YouTube Gold

I have always been a fan of YouTube. It is an endless supply of funny videos, tutorials from the weird and wonderful to the useful. It has helped me learn nursery songs and remove permanent marker off of hard wood flooring. It has made me ‘LOL’ on many occasions and even helped me learn teach some off my old maths group how to count to 10! (Big deal guys! BIG deal!)

But today…I have struck gold! Potty training videos that will make you DIE!!!!

The thinking behind me even searching such a thing is this. Hollie is a visual learner. She also likes songs. I have tried making up a song about how wonderful it is to sit on the potty, but all my genius has been used up making a ‘we love to brush our teeth’ song. I am not a machine people! So I turned to YouTube for some inspiration thinking we could watch a few songs while on the potty till I have learnt them. There were hundreds. So, I turned to Pinterest where I found a ‘Top 10′ potty songs. This is where it got interesting. Some, where genuinely acceptable. (I can’t bring myself to say good. I’m too English. Singing about poo just isn’t right). But some of these people need to be put down. It is painful. Really painful.

If you have a spare few mins. Watch these- they are gold! But, for all the wrong reasons! If you’re in public, get the headphones out, or at least turn the volume down because it is not what you want to be overheard watching!

Here are my favorites:

This woman seems to think she is being funny. She is not. She is annoying and her lack of ability to pronounce ‘potty’ with any ounce of the sound ‘t’ drives me insane.I want her to stop singing/talking out her nose. PLEASE. I couldn’t even bring myself to finish watching it to the end. Painful.

This man… well mainly he just needs tying up and his mouth taped over and put in a cupboard till the urge to sing and clap about weeing everywhere leaves him.

Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to film themselves without a sound minded person supervising them. This man was obviously not loved as a child. (Also, if you are offended by bad language, do not stick around to read the credits on this one.)

This one. Well…I watched it twice, so in comparison to the above ones, it should be counted as the overall winner. But still. NO. And ‘no actual poop was produced during this video’?!?! BORING! Come on people- if you’re going to make a film about poo, at least let the kids actually POO! DO you ‘feel it?’.

Ps- If you’re looking for a decent potty song on you tube & are bitterly disappointed by the ones I found. There are some good ones, promise! My favourite where the Sesame Street ones, but I am a huge Sesame Street fan so may be a little bias!
